Middle Management Skills

Lead Up, Lead Down, Lead Across!

Middle managers occupy one of the most demanding positions in any organization. Executing strategy handed down from leadership, motivating and developing their teams and communicating in all directions.

The Middle Management Skills Workshop gives them the tools to do all of this with greater clarity, confidence, and influence. The workshop is built around four core modules.

Leading your team using the Situational Leadership model to develop psychological safety, identified as the single greatest driver of high-performing teams.

Using communication and influence, to communicate effectively upward, downward, and across peer groups. Giving specific behaviour-focused feedback, and learning to navigate the difficult conversations most managers avoid

The art of delegation and performance management, using the Delegation Decision Matrix to match tasks to the right approach. Learning what a clean handoff looks like, and how to structure constructive performance conversations.

Developing strategic thinking and change leadership skills, to balance tactical execution with longer-term planning. So they can guide teams through the predictable stages of the Change Curve, and make better decisions under pressure.
